The children picked these lovely blooms for me on Mother's Day when they were out in the woods searching for a particular type of fern...with red hairy stem. It's got some interesting properties...supposedly...more on that if it actually works!
And hubby dug these up for me, too. I do love violets! I'm still trying to decide where to put them...I may just enjoy them inside for a bit. We'll see!
The big fuzzy Babbledy Bumbles were whirring and buzzing all around me as I took these photos. Never mind me...they were on a mission with these azaleas! They look as fuzzy as our new chicks! It's almost tempting to reach out and give 'em a little stroke...but I'll refrain!
By the way, now that the stinging insects are out in force, a great remedy for any kind of sting...including scorpion!...which I've been stung twice at the same time by those evil little creatures...is to cut a thick slice off of an onion and lay it directly on the sting. The onion absorbs the venom and within a few minutes the pain and swelling go away. The slice begins to get withered up like it's been in the sun all day...just cut another slice, remove the old one, and slap it on the sting. My Aunt Joy gave us this remedy years ago when I was little playing at their house one afternoon and happened to step on a bee.
The onion is amazing!! We take one with us on all of our summer outings...it's saved us many a time! : D
